Ajay Jadeja lashes out on MS Dhoni for leading CSK in Ravindra Jadeja’s presence: Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja seems to be unimpressed with veteran batter MS Dhoni’s on-field actions in yesterday’s CSK match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Ajay Jadeja came out hard at Dhoni for “white-anting” Ravindra Jadeja.

The cricketer turned commentator said that MS Dhoni was taking a majority of the captaincy decision despite stepping down from the leadership at the start of the tournament.

MS Dhoni decided to leave his Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captaincy prior to the start of the Tata IPL 2022, after leading the side since the inception of the tournament. Following Dhoni’s quit, the yellow franchise opted to send experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja to the helm.

“It is wrong [white-anting], there is no doubt about that. See, there is a no bigger fan of Dhoni than I am, and that’s because of his temperament,” Jadeja said on Cricbuzz.

The former Indian batter further added that it would be understandable if CSK were in a do-or-die situation, but this was just CSK’s second game of the tournament.

“If this was the last match of the group where there was a do-or-die situation in terms of qualification, then I could’ve probably understood that you would want to take over the reins because it is an important phase. But if it happens only in the second match of the season,” he added.

“See, I’m not saying this because it’s Ravindra Jadeja. But even as a cricket fan, it looked a little odd. He (Jadeja) was standing right there and you continued to run the whole game. See, Dhoni is a very big player and I don’t like saying it out loud. But I didn’t like what I saw today,” he added.

Very big shoes to fill in: Ravindra Jadeja

Premier all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been under the immense pressure of late due to the added captaincy role. He hasn’t been able to unleash his best batting performance in the last two IPL fixtures.

The all-rounder himself, earlier, admitted that MS Dhoni has left behind a rich legacy and these are very big shoes to fill in.

MS Dhoni-led CSK to four IPL titles. The wicketkeeper batter has a knack for bringing out the best from his resources, which has made him one of the most successful captain in the world cricket.

It would be interesting to see how Ravindra Jadeja use his troops in the Chennai Super King’s upcoming IPL matches. CSK will face Punjab Kings (PBKS) in its next match at the Brabourne Stadium on April 3rd.
