Afghanistan Announces West Indies T20I Series Schedule Ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has officially announced the schedule of the upcoming T20I series between Afghanistan and the West Indies. It’s going to be a three match T20I series between both teams, and this series will be played just before the ICC T20 World Cup 2026; therefore, it will be an important series for Afghanistan and the West Indies.
Afghanistan is constantly improving their performance in the T20I cricket and they are emerging as the second best team in the Asian sub-continent. However, the West Indies are struggling despite being the ones who used to dominate this format. Both teams have plenty of players, and they will be testing their bench strength before the tournament.
Currently, the West Indies is at 6th spot in the latest ICC T20 Team Rankings, whereas Afghanistan is at 10th spot. Both teams qualified for the T20 World Cup 2026, and they will be part of such a big tournament, which includes 20 teams. India and Sri Lanka are hosting this ICC tournament.

Preparations for ICC T20 World Cup 2026:
​The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is scheduled to be played in India and Sri Lanka. Afghanistan has played lots of cricket in India, so they will have a little upper hand over some other teams, but this demands firepower, quality bowling, and match finishers.
West Indies checks most of the options, but Afghanistan still needs to tick lots of boxes ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup. Both teams will be looking to make a perfect Playing XI for the tournament, and it will be a good series to practice before such a big tournament.
