KKR’s Dinesh Karthik fined for breaching IPL code of conduct against DC.

Vivo IPL 2021: Star wicketkeeper-batsman and commentary sensation Dinesh Karthik has been reprimanded for not obeying the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) code of conduct during the match against Delhi Capitals (DC) last night.

Karthik was found guilty of breaching the code of conduct with his poor behaviour in the high-pressure qualifier 2 of the Vivo IPL 2021 in Sharjah.

“Karthik admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.2 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” the official statement from IPL read.

While the exact offence is not specified by the Indian Premier League, but the senior batsman, out of frustration, was seen dislodging the stump after he endured a three balls duck.

As the batsman himself admitted the offence when charged by the Match Referee, there was no need for the formal hearings and the case was closed right away.

KKR sealed qualifier 2 defeating flamboyant Delhi Capitals (DC) by three wickets. Rahul Tripathi whacked a winning six to embark on the celebrations in the KKR dugout. They will now face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final of the IPL 2021.

Eoin Morgan and Co restricted DC to a modest total of 135 runs. In response to a cakewalk total, KKR opened up nicely with a match-defining partnership of 96 runs between two openers. However, DC in no time turned the match as the moments were down to just a few final deliveries in which Rahul Tripathi smacked a six to stamp their authority.
