The Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 is all set to the announced either today (30th April) or 1st May. The tournament will take place in June in the United States of America and the Caribbean, four days after IPL 2024 concludes.
With BCCI all set to announce India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, the latest report in Indian Express has suggested that three big names will be dropped from the team. It is learned that Yuzvendra Chahal, Shubman Gill and Axar Patel won’t be making it to the final 15.
In terms of Yuzvendra Chahal, it is learned that selectors don’t want to go back to him and they also are not in awe of his fielding skills. The leg-spinner notably is the second leading wicket-taker in the IPL 2024 and has been right on the money in every game he played.

On the other hand, it is reported that with presence of top-order batters Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli isn’t allowing selectors to make place for Shubman Gill. Therefore the young batter might miss and be part of the travelling reserve.
Axar Patel will also be part of the travelling reserve and will be missing the main squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. The BCCI is all set to name Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi as three spinners in the team, thus having no space for Patel.
It is also reported that India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 will see only three pacers in the team. Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah will be three fast bowlers along with Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube as two fast-bowling all-rounders.

India will be opening their account in the T20 World Cup 2024 with the clash against Ireland on 5th June and would be keen to start the tournament on high.
