The glamorous Indian T20 league has its structure and fixtures planned for this season’s remaining matches that will be staged in the UAE.

Already Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have started their training in the UAE after completing mandatory seven days quarantine in the country. A few franchises have recently moved to the UAE and a few are at final days of isolations.

The remainder of the IPL 2021 will be important for the franchises and the players as there is a mega auction lined up for 2022 with the addition of the two new franchises.

The players will look to showcase their mettle in the remaining 31 matches for the consideration of retention in IPL 2022. The players will be retained by a franchise owing to the performances showcased by the player in the recently held season.

Although already established players will have a smooth ride in the IPL 2022 auctions, the fringe players will be the ones who need to step up and show their real prowess in the IPL 2021 phase 2.

The article will take you through the top 4 players who will be axed from the team in IPL 2022 if they don’t play well in IPL 2021.

The Karnataka right-handed batsman Manish Pandey has not quite found his timing with the bat. The cricketer has been under the scanner for his below-average performances in the IPL. He was signed up for a whopping 10 crores in the IPL 2018 by SRH, however, the cricketer has failed miserably to justify his price tag.

A lot of criticism has surrounded him for his poor strike rate in the IPL matches for SRH and due to which he has lost his place in the playing11. Pandey was dropped off from the playing11 due to his inability to strike the ball in slog overs.

The remaining few matches in IPL 2021 will be very crucial for him to at least put up a strong statement against franchises.

The English limited-overs skipper Eoin Morgan has found it tricky to be successful in the Indian T20 league. The southpaw hasn’t managed to prove his worth in the IPL as of now and is constantly failing to take his team on the winning side.

Bagged for INR 5.25 Crores in the IPL 2021, Morgan had a miserable outing in the first seven matches of the IPL 2021. In the recent outing, he has been able to add just 92 runs at an average of 15.33.

Moreover, the cricketer doesn’t possess any flexing record in the IPL. The southpaw has an average of a mere 24.36 in the IPL in 73 matches.

It could be the final chance for the English and KKR skipper to prove his mettle by producing some above sensational stuff in the remaining 31 matches in the UAE.

Shreyas Gopal (RR):

Rajasthan Royals (RR) lead spinner Shreyas Gopal will also be in the fray to have some impact performances in the remainder of the IPL 2021 and showcase his mettle once again.

Gopal has been Rajasthan’s one of the best spinners and has always delivered in the slow surfaces. He has often got better of the batsman whenever he played on slow pitches, however, his impact gets reduced in seaming tracks.

The upcoming matches of the IPL 2021 will be held in the UAE surfaces, which predominantly aids spin bowling. Gopal will look forward to delivering a few clinical performances in the matches to throw his name for the next season’s retention for the Royals.

He has been a good find for the Royals and has taken 48 wickets in 47 matches.

Dinesh Karthik (KKR):

The dashing Indian wicketkeeper-batsman is also one of the key players who is probable to lose his place in the team after the IPL 2021. Dinesh Karthik has been associated with the Shahrukh Khan owned Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a long time now and has been one of the most influential cricketers.

However, the clock started to tick in the wrong direction for the cricketer in the IPL 2021. Karthik has managed to amass 127 runs in seven matches of IPL 2021 at a strike rate of 138.20 which is an alarming sign.

The franchise didn’t have a good run in the first seven games where they only managed to win two matches out of seven. KKR will undergo a complete overhaul ahead of IPL 2022 mega auction and Dinesh Karthik might be axed from the team.

A few consistent performances from the cricketer may help him to improve his case in front of the franchise.
