IPL 2023 Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap: Nitish Rana’s Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in match 47 of the Tata IPL 2023. KKR won the contest against SRH at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium by five runs.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) scored 171 runs in the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. The top order once again failed to put up a show and was dismissed cheaply by SRH bowlers. However, it was Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh and Andre Russell, who managed to bring Kolkata’s innings back on track with their healthy contributions.
Although KKR had amassed 171 runs, it wasn’t a par total at all for the venue. The drizzle would make things worse for the Knight Riders, but fortunately, they managed to keep everything in check.
Chasing 171 runs total, SRH, too, had a bit of a headache time after they lost their top four wickets inside seven overs. Skipper Aiden Markram and Henrich Klassen did some repair work and things looked pretty shiny for SRH until the two aforementioned were batting. It seemed SRH would take away the win easily, however, the wicket of Henrich Klassen opened the opportunity for KKR.
Following the dismissal of Henrich Klassen, skipper Aiden Markram didn’t take too long to get dismissed. With the wicket of Markram, KKR just had to keep things tight and they exactly did that and won the game by 5 runs.

Despite winning the contest against SRH, KKR still remains static in its eighth place in the IPL 2023 Points Table. KKR has eight points from 10 matches. While SRH has six rating points from nine matches and is placed in the penultimate position.
The IPL 2023 Points table leaderboard is spearheaded by defending champions Gujarat Titans with 12 points from nine matches. Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings followed them respectively with 11 points apiece. Meanwhile, four teams are placed with 10 points.
IPL 2023 Orange Cap
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) saviour Rinku Singh 46 runs off 35 deliveries against SRH. Owing to his total, he has made significant gains in the IPL 2023 Orange Cap tally. Rinku is now placed in the seventh position with 316 runs from 10 matches at an average of 52.
The IPL 2023 Orange Cap leaderboard is still led by RCB skipper Faf du Plessis with 466 runs from nine matches. Young RR batter Yashasvi Jaiswal is at number two with 428 runs followed by CSK’s Devon Conway with 414 runs and RCB’s Virat Kohli with 364 runs.
IPL 2023 Purple Cap
KKR mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy scalped a wicket and made a few gains in IPL 2023 Purple Cap tally. Chakravarthy is currently placed eighth in the list with 14 wickets from 10 matches at a decent economy of 7.99.
Gujarat’s Mohammad Shami is placed atop the IPL 2023 Purple Cap leaderboard with 17 wickets from nine innings followed by CSK’s Tushar Desphande with same wickets. Punjab’s Arshdeep Singh is placed third in the tally with 16 wickets.
