5 Players Chennai Super Kings (CSK) might Release Ahead of IPL 2026 Auction | CSK Released Players 2026

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is one of the most successful franchises, as they have won five IPL titles. Since the IPL 2026 Retention deadline is November 15, 2025, the franchise is expected to release some quality players from the squad ahead of the IPL 2026 Auction. As per the reports, CSK and RR are in talks for Sanju Samson in Chennai.

The Players like Sam Curran, Devon Conway, and Deepak Hooda are expected to be released by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to add young talent to the squad for the upcoming season. CSK is looking to the future and is slowly making changes to make a better squad for the upcoming seasons.

These players have been part of CSK’s squad for a couple of seasons, but in recent times, they have not been able to put much on the table. Therefore, the franchise has decided to let them go. IPL 2025 was not a great season for CSK as they finished lower on the points table.

CSK’s decision to release many players is part of a bigger strategy to reshape the team for the future. There are a couple of reasons Chennai is making a perfect and winning squad for the upcoming seasons of the Indian Premier League.

Sam Curran:

Sam Curran has been a quality all-rounder, but in recent times, his form is a huge concern. CSK bought Curran at a price tag of Rs. 2.4 crore, and they will be looking for some young talents who can consistently perform.

Devon Conway:

Devon Conway has started his career for CSK with phenomenal performances, but in the last edition, he had a very decent performance. Conway scored 176 runs in 6 matches with an average of 26.00, but the strike rate was 131.00, which is quite low compared to the openers of other teams.

Vijay Shankar:

Vijay Shanker has experience, but his inconsistent performance with both bat and ball. CSK might be looking for some young talent who can help the team in the long run.

Deepak Hooda:

Deepak Hooda has terribly failed in the last season. His role was to finish the game, but unfortunately, there was not a single knock in where he finished the game. So, CSK might release him also ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction.

Rahul Tripathi:

Rahul Tripathi played five matches in the last season and scored only 55 runs at an average of 11.00. Chennai might release him due to his poor performance.
