2. Punjab Kings (PBKS):
Ever since the franchise made KL Rahul its skipper, the team has inarguably done well, however, this has also led KL Rahul to reduce his activeness during the early overs of the game.
The openers are the key players for Punjab Kings. The majority of team runs are scored by the top two players which is a problem as no batsman can deliver every time he comes to bat or ball.
PBKS will look to fetch some good middle-order batsman who can accelerate the innings once the tone is set or if the openers fell early they can easily bring back innings to life.
The franchise will look for someone who can strike the ball cleanly in no time as well as has the capability to hold onto the wicket for long.
Moreover, the management will look to have some other bowling options in the team. In the IPL 2020, even after doing well in the first couple of overs, PBKS bowlers leaked crucial runs in the death which was the major concern for them.
Mohammad Shami was brilliant last season. This season Arsdeep Singh stepped up and delivered for his team, but the team needs more of them.
