Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will be preparing for the upcoming WPL 2026 Mega Auction after having quite a disappointing performance in the last season. They have officially announced their list of retained and released players ahead of the WPL 2026 Auction, which is scheduled to be held on November 27 in New Delhi.

RCB have retained only four players ahead of WPL 2026 Mega Auction - Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, Richa Ghosh, and Shreyanka Patil, who were the backbone of RCBโ€™s WPL 2025 title-winning squad. Captain Smriti Mandhana was the highest run-scorer for India in the recent Womenโ€™s ODI World Cup 2025.

However, RCB released a few of their experienced overseas all-rounders like Sophie Devine, Sophie Molineux, Heather Graham and Georgia Wareham. But, these players have been an asset for RCB in the past season, but it looks like they want a fresh direction ahead of the WPL 2026 Mega Auction.

RCB will enter the WPL 2026 Mega Auction with a purse remaining of Rs. 6.15 crore. They need to fill about 14 player slots to complete their squad of 18; therefore, RCB need to come up with a good strategy to make a quality and balanced squad for the Womenโ€™s Premier League (WPL) 2026.

RCB Auction Strategy for WPL 2026:

Strengthening Middle-Order:

With Ellyse Perry and Richa Ghosh, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) need to have a few more quality players with the same combination of firepower and stability.

Adding Fast bowlers:

After the release of Renuka Singh, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will try to find new pace bowlers who can be lethal in the start and death overs and effective in Indian conditions.

Overseas Firepower:

RCB only retained Australian star all-rounder and former captain Ellyse Perry, while they released many quality players. So, RCB have to focus on overseas players to make their squad stronger.

Building a Balanced Squad:

RCB needs to keep a mix of experience and young players in the involving T20 cricket, where both firepower and stability are needed to win the tournament.
