World record created! Rohit Sharma breaks Shahid Afridi’s record of most sixes in ODIs

Rohit Sharma now has 352 sixes in ODIs.

Indian Cricket Team batter Rohit Sharma achieved a world record in the history of ODIs. The right-hander surpassed former Pakistan batter Shahid Afridi to become the batter with the most number of sixes in ODI cricket.

Rohit Sharma achieved the feat in the ongoing game against the South African cricket Team. The opening match of the three-match series between the teams is underway at the JSCA stadium in Ranchi on Sunday, November 30. 

Rohit Sharma, who is the number-one-ranked ICC ODI batter, looked in terrific touch and carried on from where he left off in Australia. Although, he took some time to get going, he was at his absolute best when he had his eye set in. 

Rohit Sharma went after the bowlers, hitting them in all corners of the park. He slammed a magical fifty, his third consecutive in ODIs. En route to his innings, he also hit three fifties and created the world record for most sixes in the format.

Rohit Sharma had 349 sixes coming into this game. And with his three sixes in the IND vs SA first ODI, he became the batter with the most number of sixes in the format. He now has 352 sixes in the format and with the way he is going, the number is expected to rise.

Rohit Sharma ended with an innings of 57 runs off 51 balls. Along with the three sixes, he also hit five fours. His heroics with the bat powered India to over 100 runs.
