World Cup 2023 Qualifier Sri Lanka announced their squad for ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023: The Sri Lankan Cricket Board announces their squad for ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Qualifier, which is going to start on June 18th, 2023.

The Sri Lankan cricket board includes Matheesha Pathirana in the upcoming ICC World Cup Qualifiers 2023 squad. Sri Lankan fails to qualify for the World Cup 2023, and Now they want to get into the remaining two spots for World Cup 2023. 

As per the Schedule, Sri Lanka will play their first match of the World Cup 2023 Qualifier against the United Arab Emirates on June 19th at Queen’s Sports Club, Zimbabwe.

Dasun Shanaka will lead the Sri Lankan National Team in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers 2023. Sri Lankan Board has named a strong squad for the World Cup Qualifier 2023 to make their way for a mega tournament, World Cup 2023.

Sri Lanka included “baby Malinga” in their 15-member squad for the World Cup Qualifier. Matheesha Pathirana recently debuted in ODIs for his National Team and also performed well in Indian Premier League(IPL) 2023, where he took 19 wickets in seven matches for Chennai Super Kings. 

Kusal Mendis will be a Wicketkeeper-batsman and Vice Captain of Sri Lanka in the Qualifiers. Kusal Mendis Played well in the last series against Afghanistan as he knocked 78 runs in the second match and led his team to a massive score.

Key players of Sri Lanka for the upcoming World Cup Qualifier are Captain Dasun Shanaka(C), Kusal Mendis, Dimuth Karunaratne and Dhananjaya de Silva. Sri Lanka will try their best to secure one of the two remaining spots in the ICC World Cup 2023.

ICC Super League Standings: Sri Lanka failed to get direct qualification into World Cup 2023:

ICC Super League is a selection process by ICC through which teams can get direct tickets for the world cup 2023 in India. Sri Lanka was part of the Super League but failed to get into the top eight of the Super League Points Table, they are in the 10th spot in the points table.
