T20 World Cup 2026 points table after Super 8 match 46, NZ vs SL: New Zealand ELIMINATES Sri Lanka

NZ vs SL saw New Zealand eliminating Sri Lanka from T20 World Cup 2026.

New Zealand kept themselves alive in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 as they dominated Sri Lanka in their second game of Super 8. They thumped the co-hosts by 61 runs at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday. Asked to bat, New Zealand piled up a total of 168 for seven, and then restricted Sri Lanka to 107 for eight.

New Zealand had a poor start to their innings as Tim Seifert and Finn Allen (23)  got out early. Rachin Ravindra (32), at three, played a vital hand but Sri Lanka spinners put batters under pressure and picked quick wickets to leave New Zealand at 84 for six.

With the team down, captain Mitchell Santner (47) played a brilliant hand and was supported well by Cole McConchie (31*). Their 84-run stand in the end powered New Zealand to 168, which didn’t look possible at one stage.
