What is India’s record in the finals of the ICC Women’s World Cup?

The Indian Women’s Cricket Team are all set to lock horns with the South Africa Women’s team in the final of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. The match between the two teams will be played at the Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on November 2. 

The Indian Women’s Cricket Team have been decent in the tournament but they came up with their best performance in the semi-final of the tournament against Australia. They scripted the history and registered the highest ever chase in WODIs, chasing 339 runs. 

On the other hand, South Africa were too good for England in the semi-final. They thrashed the opposition by over 120 runs and booked their berth for the first time in the final of the ICC Women’s World Cup. 

The India vs South Africa final will be one of the exciting clashes in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. Whosever wins the game, one this is sure that there will be new winners touching their hand on the World Cup trophy.

The Indian women’s cricket team have made it into the final of the ICC Women’s World Cup twice before this edition. Their first appearance in the final came in 2005 against Australia under the leadership of Mithali Raj. But it was a sad ending for them in the tournament. 

They lost the clash by a massive margin of 98 runs as after Australia posted a total of 215/4 on the scoreboard, India got all out for just 117 runs.

Their second final came in 2017 against England and it’s fair to say that it was their best bet to win as they played brilliantly. They restricted England to 228/7 and at one stage needed run-a-ball with Poonam Raut (86) Harmanpreet Kaur (51) and Veda Krishnamurthy (35) making crucial contributions. 

However, Anya Shrubsole’s six-wicket haul tilted the game in favour of England as India got all out for 217 to lose the game by just 9 runs.
