Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Ajinkya Rahane had a bizarre moment ahead of the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The league is all set to begin on Saturday, with defending champions taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has been putting in the hard yards for the last few days. The franchise has been training hard at the Eden Gardens and would be keen to defend their title. Although their IPL-winning captain won't be part of the setup, they have some quality match winners.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) recently announced Ajinkya Rahane as their skipper for the IPL 2025. The veteran batter was handed the responsibility with Venkatesh Iyer being appointed as the vice-captain. The senior batter has been leading Mumbai well in domestic cricket and, hence, was given the nod ahead.
Ajinkya Rahane has been in good touch in domestic cricket and has also looked decent in the nets for KKR in IPL 2025. The senior batter will have great shoes to fill as Shreyas Iyer guided the team to the title last year, which was their third in the league.
Ajinkya Rahane would want to start on high as he would be keen to take KKR to win in the game against RCB. However, a day ahead of the match, the skipper of the team was at the receiving end of a hilarious incident. It happened when the team was about to leave the hotel for Stadium.
Ajinkya Rahane came late out of his room and hence the team bus was about to leave without him. The KKR captain was seen running to catch the bus, and the video of the incident went viral on the internet, with many coming with hilarious reactions, especially with the team bus leaving without their skipper.

Ajinkya Rahane will have a massive point to prove in the IPL 2025. The KKR skipper would want to lead from the front. The senior batter has earlier led Rajasthan Royals in the league. In the 185 games, he has slammed 4642 runs at an average of over 30 and a strike rate of around 124.
