The BCCI recently axed Virat Kohli from team India’s ODI captaincy and named Rohit Sharma as India’s new limited-overs captain.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee also decided to name Mr Rohit Sharma as the Captain of the ODI & T20I teams going forward,” read the tweet from the official Twitter handle of the BCCI.

Rohit is also named as team India’s Test vice-captain, but the cricketer has been ruled out of the three matches test series owing to his hamstring injury. Rohit’s participation in the ODI series is also not confirmed as he is likely to take anywhere around three to four weeks of time to recover.
