The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is set to begin on February 07, 2026. India and Sri Lanka are co-hosting the tournament. A Total of 20 teams will compete across different venues in India and Sri Lanka for the T20 World Cup title. Scotland replaced Bangladesh for the tournament after they refused to play matches in India.

However, a lot of things are happening, but teams are now joining training camps and preparing for the upcoming tournament. Pakistan refused to play against India on February 15, 2026, in Sri Lanka due to political reasons, but this decision came from the Pakistan Government, not from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), so things will go as per schedule.

With the new approach in T20 cricket, many records will be broken, and new records will be registered by the youngsters who are currently ruling this format with their exceptional and aggressive brand of cricket. India are the defending champions, and they will be looking to register another trophy, but teams like Australia and England are also in the race.

Most Successful Teams in T20 World History

Three teams currently have the same record for most T20 World Cup titles, but interestingly, no team has ever successfully defended a T20 World Cup title, and no host has won the tournament on home soil.

India - 2 titles

West Indies - 2 titles

England - 2 titles

So, India, being the host of the T20 World Cup 2026, will be aiming to break both the records, and they have a very strong squad with plenty of players who can single-handedly win games for the team.
