In the IND vs AUS 2nd ODI, the former Indian captain Rohit Sharma played a fantastic knock of 73 runs off 97 balls. This inning was very special because it came after ROKO (Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli) returned to International cricket after 6 months, and their position in the team depends on their performance.

However, this sole performance doesn’t confirm Rohit Sharma’s spot in the 2027 World Cup, but it will increase his chances to play more games for the Indian Team and perform better. Both Virat and Rohit seem committed to the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2027, and they are doing their best to perform and earn their position in the team.

Virat Kohli’s form is still a concern as he got out at duck in two consecutive games, and it was the first time in ODI history that Virat Kohli got back-to-back ducks. This 73-run inning will boost Rohit’s confidence in the upcoming ODI match in Sydney, where he might score a century.

Rohit Sharma’s commitment to the 2027 World Cup:

At many platforms, Rohit Sharma publicly shows his desire to play the 2027 ODI World Cup. He is working hard on his batting and fitness to be fully available for the tournament. As per some reports, Rohit lost around 11 kgs of weight and is still in the process of remaining fit and competing with others in the team.

This 73-run inning in Adelaide is an answer to some of the critics who keep questioning the position of these star players. Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, the Indian Team won two ICC trophies (T20 World Cup 2024 & Champions Trophy 2025) within a year.
