Vivo IPL 2021: RCB records a low scoring thriller win against Sunrisers Hyderabad

Vivo IPL 2021: RCB records a low scoring thriller win against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Vivo IPL 2021: David Warner’s Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday missed a routine chase against Royal Challengers Bangalore after getting too close to the victory and lost the second game by 6 runs. A total that looked like a below-par turned out to be a low scoring thriller in Chennai for the second time after Mumbai Indians produced a fightback against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) a couple of nights ago on the same surface.

SRH skipper David Warner and Manish Pandey out in the middle after the early breakthrough of Wriddhiman Saha stitched a good 80 runs stand. The outfits in Orange were cruising at a good rate and looked in complete control to win the game comfortably. However, the wicket of David Warner changed the matchup of the game.

Kyle Jamieson was brought in by skipper Virat Kohli who picked up the wicket of SRH skipper David Warner after his 1st half-century in IPL 2021.

The masterstroke of Virat Kohli to bring left-arm spinner Shahbaz Ahmad did wonders for the RCB. Ahmad in the 17th over of SRH innings scalped well set Jonny Bairstow (12 From 13), Manish Pandey (38 off 39) and Abdul Samad (0 off 2).

With consecutive three wickets in an over of Shahbaz Ahmad put SRH on backfoot and never gave a chance to comeback in the game.

One by one the wickets started falling and Sunrisers Hyderabad missed an easy win by 6 runs. SRH could only manage to score 143 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 9 wickets.

Shahbaz Ahmad picked three wickets while speedster Harshal Patel and Mohammad Siraj got two and Kyle Jamieson scalped one wicket.

Glenn Maxwell for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is turning to be a match-winning purchase as he smacked his maiden IPL half-century for RCB and his first in the last five years of IPL.

When no other batsmen were staying in the middle, Maxwell played sensibly and took RCB to 149 runs in 20 overs with his 59 off 41 deliveries. RCB skipper Virat Kohli scored 33 from 29 deliveries.

With the second win in the first two IPL games, RCB sits at the top of the IPL 2021 points table with 4 points and a Net Run Rate of +0.175.
