Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap in IPL 2022 – Updated List April 5: A total of 12 matches of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) season fifteen have been completed so far. We have already witnessed a couple of very high scoring chases along with low scoring thrillers. The games will get intensified as the tournament progresses to the second phase.

The last match was held between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants in the DY Patil Stadium. Though the contest turned out to be low scoring, however, it had several crunchy moments in it.

Lucknow Super Giants eventually managed to win the game by 12 runs and brought up their second victory of the season in three matches.

Young pacer Avesh Khan remained the pick of the bowlers as he scalped crucial four wickets and was adjudged as the ‘Player of the Match’. Meanwhile, Jason Holder and Krunal Pandya also helped with their three and two wickets respectively.

SRH had all the time in this world to conquer the game against Lucknow Super Giants, however, quick wickets in succession put them on the wrong side. 

Rahul Tripathi’s batting was their main highlight along with a bit of form returning to the bat of Nicholas Pooran. 

Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants had several positives from their game. KL Rahul scored a half-century, and Deepak Hooda continued his sublime touch. Young pacer Avesh Khan returned back to his rhythm and picked up four wickets, which include a two-wicket over that turned the course of the match in the slog overs.

Not much has changed in the points table of the Tata IPL 2022. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), owing to their last night’s win, jumped over Delhi Capitals and are currently seating at 5th place with four rating points.

The first position is still in the hands of Rajasthan Royals (RR) with four points along with a superior net run rate. KKR is at two with two wins in three matches. Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans are seated in third place with two wins from two matches followed by Punjab Kings with two wins from three matches.

Delhi Capitals are at 6, Royal Challengers Bangalore at 7, Mumbai Indians at 8, Chennai Super Kings at 9 and Surnisers Hyderabad at 10th.

Orange Cap in IPL 2022:

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batters have come up the ranking table following their good batting performance. Deepak Hooda has climbed up to the third position with 119 runs in three matches while his skipper KL Rahul is at number 5 with 108 runs in three matches.

Mumbai Indians (MI) Ishan Kishan is currently holding the Orange Cap. Kishan has scored 135 runs in two matches. Jos Buttler is at number two with an equal number of runs, but a slightly lower strike rate.

Young pacer Avesh Khan has stormed into the top two following his four-fer in the last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Avesh has now scalped a total of 7 wickets in three matches and is placed behind KKR’s Umesh Yadav who has eight wickets in his hat in three matches.

The third place is occupied by Punjab Kings’ Rahul Chahar with six wickets followed by Yuzvendra Chahal (RR), Mohammad Shami (GT), Tim Southee (KKR), Wanindu Hasaranga (RCB) and Dwayne Bravo (CSK) who all have five wickets each.
