Pakistan skipper Babar Azam talked about the loss his team faced in the game against the United States of America (USA) in the T20 World Cup 2024. He claimed that they had the best bowling lineup and should’ve won the game.

In what was the biggest upset in the history of the T20 World Cup, Pakistan faced a disappointing loss against the United States of America (USA). The match took place at the Grand Prairie International Stadium in Texas and it saw history getting scripted.

The USA looked in terrific form right from the start as they bowled sensationally well upfront. They picked up early wickets with the ball and then reduced Pakistan to a total of 159, which looked below par on the surface like this.

With the bat, they were sensational and were in the game. However, Pakistan made a comeback in the death and bowled incredibly well. Aaron Jones (36*) and Nitish Kumar tried their best with the bat as the match ended in a tie and moved to super over.

In the super over, the USA posted 18 runs and lost one wicket. Aaron Jones and Harmeet Singh batted well and set a target of 19 runs. And then with the ball, Netravalkar oozed his class and defended the target to help his team win the game.

Babar Azam attended the press conference and stated that they weren’t up to the mark with the ball. He stated that with the kind of bowlers they have, they should’ve won. He stated:

“We got some help from the pitch (while bowling), but we weren’t up to the mark with our areas in the first 10 overs. We came back after that in the death overs but they already had the momentum.

We have our best bowlers here, so we should have defended this total. On this pitch, I think the total was better considering our bowling.

Pakistan will be next seen in action when they take India in their next game on 9th June.
