The Sri Lanka squad will be captained by Dasun Shanaka

Sri Lanka Cricket Team have announced their squad for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan Cricket Team. The two teams will be locking horns with each other in the three-match series, which will act as a preparation for both teams ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026.

The PAK vs SL T20I series will begin on January 7 in Dambulla followed by the second match to be played on January 9. The last game of the series will be played on January 11. All these matches will be played at the same venue.

The Sri Lanka squad will be captained by Dasun Shanaka, who was recently appointed as the captain of the T20I team. The team features experienced players as well as young players, which makes them favourites to win the series.

The squad features the likes of Hasaranga, Asalanka, Kusal Mendis, Nissanka, Kamindu Mendis, de Silva, Theekshana, Dunith Wellalage, Chameera, Nuwan Thushara, Matheesha Pathirana, and Dilshan Madushanka. They have a strong pace as well spin bowling attack.

The series against Pakistan serves as a great preparation for Sri Lanka as the T20 World Cup 2026 is set to begin on February 11. Not only this, but Sri Lanka has also named Lasith Malinga as a fast-bowling consultant for a 40-day period from December 15 to January 25, 2026.

The series will be a great opportunity for all the players to perform and make themselves in the final 15 for the T20 World Cup 2026.
