PAK vs ENG: England announce their Playing XI for the 1st test, Stokes sidelined due to injury: England's National Cricket Team have announced their Playing XI for the 1st test match versus Pakistan as the three-match Test-Series kicks off from the 7th of October in the city of Multan.
As England?s full-time Test-Skipper Ben Stokes has been sidelined from the 1st test match due to a hamstring injury, Ollie Pope will be handling the leadership duties in his absence.
Considering the playing conditions on offer, right-arm Bowling All-Rounder Brydon Carse, who represents Durham in the Domestic circuit has been handed his Test-debut.
On the other hand, veteran slow left arm orthodox spinner Jack Leach has also been included in the Starting XI and he will be taking part in his first test-match since January of this year.
Also, opener Zak Crawley has returned to the starting XI after successfully recovering from the finger-injury he suffered versus West Indies.
Jamie Smith will carry on with the duty of dawning the wicket keeping gloves while the trio of Joe Root, Harry Brook and Ollie Pope will be handling the middle-order duties.
Shoaib Bashir, who had a good series versus India will be the second spinner while Gus Atkinson will be the fast-bowling All-Rounder alongside Chris Woakes.
The first test match between the Three Lions and the Shaheens will be played on Monday, 7th of October at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan.
