PAK vs BAN Test: Possible Venues to host Pakistan vs Bangladesh 2-Match Test Series in August | Bangladesh tour of Pakistan 2024

PAK vs BAN: Following Pakistan's early exit from the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has moved on and has been finalising the venues for the upcoming Bangladesh tour of Pakistan 2024. The complete itinerary of the tour is being discussed among the officials and plans are being worked out.

As per the reports, Pakistan and Bangladesh are set to engage in a two-game Test series in Pakistan. The series is expected to be played in August 2024 in Rawalpindi and Multan. The two-match PAK vs BAN test will be a part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle.

Notably, the most prominent stadiums in Pakistan are undergoing an upgrade to host the prestigious ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which shrinks the overall stadium base for PCB to pick to host the PAK vs BAN test series.

Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium is undergoing some changes and after the completion, Karachi's National Bank Stadium will also be revamped to accommodate the Champions Trophy needs.

The degradation of the prominent venues across Pakistan leaves PCB with very few options to pick from. As of now, Rawalpindi and Multan have emerged as the top contenders for hosting the Pakistan vs. Bangladesh test series in August.

Pakistan hopeful of India's visit for Champions Trophy 2025

While the Government of India (GOI) has time and again reiterated its stance of not visiting Pakistan for any cricket action, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is hopeful of Team India's visit to their land for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

A few local reports hinted at some positive developments taking place, which enhance India's chances of visiting Pakistan.

The draft schedule has been submitted to the ICC by the PCB officials and now it only awaits clearance from the apex cricket board. The details of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 schedule are likely to be revealed to the participating cricket boards very soon.

Notably, Team India's fixture in the tournament is likely to be held in Lahore, as per the reports. Lahore's proximity to the border will felicitate the smooth travel of fans, who wish to witness Team India's contest.
