Mumbai Indians & CSK retained, released Players List in IPL 2023: In a big development, Mumbai Indians (MI) has released senior all-rounder Kieron Pollard ahead of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 Auction. As per the reports, Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), both have submitted their retained players list to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
As far as Chennai Super Kings’ is concerned, they have managed to get hold of veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who was earlier rumoured to part ways with the franchise following a bitter fall-out in the last edition of the league. Besides, CSK have let go of Chris Jordan, Adam Milne, Narayan Jagadeesan and Mitchell Santner ahead of the IPL 2023 Auction.
Notably, CSK had an embarrassing outing in the Tata IPL 2022. Being the defending champions of the title, last year, they were anticipated to at least qualify for the playoffs and give hard time to other teams. However, things went haywire for the four times IPL title winners as they finished second last in the points table.
The upcoming season will be important for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as well as for Mumbai Indians (MI) as both of them seek revenge for their last year’s humiliation. While CSK finished at the penultimate position, Mumbai was placed at the bottom of the table. The fifteenth season of the IPL for the perennial champions opened up to be sore and unfruitful, but they would certainly look to change things this time.
Talking about Mumbai’s other releases apart from Kieron Pollard, the five times IPL winners have also freed Fabian Allen, Hrithik Shokeen, Mayank Markande and Tymal Mills ahead of the auction.
It’s important to note that the upcoming IPL auction is set to be held in Kochi on December 23. Meanwhile, the deadline for each franchise to submit their list of released and retained players is November 15.
