England End Drought at MCG
The Australia vs England 4th Test match was played on a difficult pitch at the MCG. There was uneven bounce and movement from Day 1. A total of 20 wickets fell on the opening day itself. Australia were bowled out for 152 in their first innings, while England got all out for 110 in just 29.5 overs. Australia managed to gain a first-inning lead of 42 runs. Travis Head scored 46 runs, the most by any batter in the second inning for Australia. They had a target of 175 runs, and England started with their bazball; the openers had a 51-run partnership for the 1st wicket. However, Australian bowlers were also effective, and they were getting wickets from one end. But, Jacob Bethell played a handy 40 runs inning and led England to register their first victory of the Ashes 2025-26. The Player of the Match was Josh Tongue for his impressive bowling at MCG, he took seven wickets in this game.
