T20 World Cup 2026 points table after match 15, ENG vs WI

West Indies have now won two out of their two games in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 as they thumped England in their second match. The two-time champions registered a 30-run win at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday. Asked to bat, West Indies piled up 196 for six, in response, England managed just 166.

West Indies had a horrible start to their innings with both openers, Shai Hope and Brandon King perishing inside two overs. But, this didn’t affect Shimron Hetmyer (23) as he came out all guns blazing and hit magical shots. Although, he along with Roston Chase (34) added 47 runs together, his innings didn’t last long as West Indies lost three wickets inside the power play.

The real hero of the West Indies innings was Sherfane Rutherford (76*), who despite wickets falling at the other end, kept hammering England bowlers. He found a great support in Jason Holder (33) as the duo added 61 runs together that put England back on backfoot. Their blistering performances helped West Indies post a big total of 196 for six. For England, Adil Rashid (two for 16) was the pick of the bowlers.

ENG vs WI: England succumbs to pressure as West Indies clinch important win

England had a brutal start to their innings with Phil Salt (30) smashing West Indies bowlers all over the park. He along with Jos Buttler (21) added 38 runs together. Jacob Bethell (33), at three, played his part, but like last game failed to convert his start.

After that, West Indies spinners cashed in on the good start and picked wickets in quick succession, leaving England at 131 for five. Sam Curran (43*) kept his team in the hunt, but fell short of his partners as England got all out for 166, losing the game by 30 runs.
