Just In: Bangladesh decides to not travel to India for ICC T20 World Cup 2026

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have come with a massive decision related to the T20 World Cup 2026. As per the reports in Cricbuzz, it is learned that the Bangladesh Cricket Team won’t be travelling to India for the tournament.

This comes after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) asked Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to release Mustafizur Rahman from their squad for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. This happened amid the political tensions between the two nations.

After Mustafizur Rahman was released from the KKR’s squad, BCB called an immediate meeting and decided to revoke the NOC granted to Mustafizur Rahman to play in the IPL with immediate effect. This means that even if Rahman is called back by KKR, BCB won’t let him play.

The reports also suggested that Bangladesh will not travel to India to play the T20 World Cup 2026. They will soon release the official statement related to this and it will act as a massive blow.

The BCB had sent an official letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) to move their games out of India in the T20 World Cup 2026. They wanted to know the security status but later changed their mind in the board meeting that was attended by the majority of the directors.

If Bangladesh decides against coming to India for the T20 World Cup 2026, then it means that ICC will have to schedule their games in Sri Lanka, who are the co-hosts and are also hosting the games of Pakistan in the tournament.

Bangladesh also announced the Squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 and it remains to be seen where they play their games in the tournament.
