Sometimes people fall short of words to describe what they saw, and today is one such moment for every cricket fan. It’s nothing less than a flawless display of bowling supplemented with fierce batting by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

The two SRH openers – Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma – have just made a mockery of the LSG bowlers. There’s no exaggeration as I say Lucknow was never in a contest against SRH as this game progressed.

The two SRH batters wreaked havoc with their blitz batting display and hunted down a total of 165 runs in just 9.4 overs with no loss of wicket. While Abhishek Sharma remained unbeaten at 28-ball 75, Travis Head scored 89* runs in 30 deliveries.

Earlier in the game, LSG managed to score 165 runs in 20 overs after losing 4 wickets. The KL Rahul-led side failed to get a solid start to their innings and got an unwanted record to their name. LSG became the side to have the lowest powerplay total (27 runs) in the IPL 2024.

Despite the early jolts, LSG somehow managed to recover and post a respectable total against SRH. The likes of Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni stitched a gritty 99-run partnership to take LSG to some defendable total.

Pooran played a fine 26-ball 48-run knock while young Ayush Badoni remained unbeaten at a score of 30-ball 55 runs.

However, in the end, the score looked meagre and scarce against the packed SRH batting lineup, which never shies on notching up big scores with such ease.

Let’s have a look at the IPL Points Table (Updated) On 8th MAY after SRH vs LSG:

IPL Points Table (Updated) after SRH vs LSG

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have made their way ahead for the IPL playoff quite easy with a sublime win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 10 wickets. SRH moved to third place in the IPL Points Table following the win with 14 points from 12 matches. Their massive win against LSG has also boosted their net run rate, which currently stands at – 0.406.

On the other side, LSG continues to slip after their initial dominance in the IPL 2024. The KL Rahul-led side has suffered their third loss in the last four games and it surely isn’t a good time to have those. Currently, they are seated in sixth place in the IPL Points Table with 12 points from as many matches.

Meanwhile, in a big development, Mumbai Indians (MI) became the first side in the IPL 2024 to get eliminated. SRH’s win has ensured that they don’t get a chance to contest for the playoff spot anymore.
