IPL 2025 Teams eyeing the Top 4 spots: Check the Qualification chances to IPL 2025 Playoffs for all teams

While the Gujarat Titans, Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore are looking in a better position to qualify for the playoffs, the likes of the Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants will look to nudge between their Net Run Rates to look for the final spot in the top 4.

Here are the complete playoff qualification chances for teams in the IPL 2025:

Royal Challengers Bangalore [RCB]

Currently advanced to the top position of the points table, RCB are well settled with 14 points in 10 games. They have four matches left in this edition of the points table, and usually 16 points is considered safe for qualification into the playoffs, while 18 points would surely see them through to the final 4.

Left with 4 games, if RCB win all 4 games, they will end with 22 points, or if they win 3 games, they will end with 20 points and will definitely finish in the top two positions. While winning 2 more games would also make their qualification certain, though one win or no further win would threaten the team's qualification chances, as it would then depend on the NRR.

Gujarat Titans [GT]

Under Shubman Gill’s amazing leadership, the Gujarat Titans are looking like an eminent side to qualify for the playoffs for the third time in their fourth year since their debut. Left with 6 games, winning all games, 5 games, or even 4 of the games would surely see the Titans into the playoffs and would confirm their presence in the Top 3.

Winning 50% of the remaining games, the Titans, with 18 points, can also advance to the playoffs, likely dependent on their NRR. 2 wins can also make the Titans qualify based on Net Run rate scenarios. However, one win might make them dependent on the results of other sides to fancy their hopes.

Mumbai Indians [MI]

The Mumbai Indians have won 5 matches in a row and now have advanced into the top 4 teams with 6 wins and 12 points in 10 games. Mumbai Indians suffered a lack of commitment, losing 4 games in their first half of the matches and then bounced back after maintaining an undefeated streak.

The MI team has won 4 games, and it would take them through to the playoffs with 20 points. 3 wins could reduce their qualification chances to 99%, while 2 more wins as well would make their qualification chances certain, but would rely on their high Net run-rate. Losing any further matches, in more than 2 games, could be the end of MI’s IPL 2025 campaign.

Delhi Capitals [DC}

The Delhi Capitals also stand on the brink of qualification with 6 wins already, and winning the remainder of the matches would give them an advantage in the top two with 22 points. 4 and 3 wins can also lead them into the top 4 with strong qualification chances.

2 wins can also give them a qualification chance, with a fairly good chance given their net run-rate is good over the other teams.

Punjab Kings [PBKS]

Punjab Kings faced a huge blow to their campaign with the last match at the Eden Gardens washed out due to rain. 5 wins next can help them qualify straight into the playoffs, while 4 wins can also lead them to 19 points. Under both these scenarios, they can qualify for the playoffs into the final 4.

3 wins and a greater net run rate will play a vital role and would make the table a complicated web for the fourth spot, as teams would look heavily into acquiring the top 4 spots.

Lucknow Super Giants [LSG]

What LSG need is a proper bounce back or improving their consistency, as winning their next 4 games would take LSG to 18 points, which would give them a huge qualifying chance. Even 3 wins would give them chances of qualification under favourable NRR.

Losing more than one game would see Rishabh Pant led side in sheer trouble, as 2 wins or 1 win would make it risky or likely impossible to qualify.

Kolkata Knight Riders [KKR]

Kolkata Knight Riders have lost 5 of their 9 games and have 7 points, occupying the 7th position on the points table as well. If KKR can win 5 games, they will be certain of their qualification chances, though they would have to level up with their NRR.

Winning four games would largely reduce their qualification chances, as 15 points and a huge surge in NRR would be of no use if other teams end with lower or equal points than them. Losing more than 2 games would slim their qualification chances any further.

Sunrisers Hyderabad [SRH]

Qualification chances in the IPL 2025 look like a dream for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, as they will need multiple results going their way to have any chances into the final 4, especially due to their poor NRR.

Rajasthan Royals [RR]

The Rajasthan Royals have repeatedly lost several close matches, as Sanju Samson, their skipper, has been ruled out of the IPL 2025 campaign for the second time with an injury. Even 5 or 4 wins in the remaining games of theirs cannot take them over 50% winning chances. Even 5 wins would rely on other teams' performance as well as NRR.

Chennai Super Kings [CSK]

Chennai Super Kings are currently placed lowest of the points table with just 2 wins from 9 games. They are left with 5 more matches, and a 100% win record from here could lead them to just 14 points, and for the MSD side, qualification under this scenario would rely heavily on other teams like Mumbai Indians, PBKS and Lucknow Super Giants, who would have to finish with less than or equal to 14 points.

Losing even one of their next games would almost eliminate CSK from the race for the playoffs in the IPL 2025, as even a massive NRR surge would not be able to see them through.
