IPL 2023: Sanju Samson Discloses How He Impressed Rahul Dravid to Get RR IPL Contract

Sanju Samson has been an integral part of Rajasthan Royals for a decade. Sanju joined the camp of The Royals in 2013. The 28-year-old has played the most number of the match for Rajasthan Royals after Shane Warne.

Sanju Samson played his maiden season of the Indian Premier League in 2012. He was signed by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2012. Unfortunately, he could not play even a single match for the franchise. He was then introduced to Rajasthan Royals in 2013 and played for the team till 2015.

In 2016, Rajasthan Royals faced a ban due to match-fixing, and Sanju was picked by Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) for two seasons. Sanju came back to the Royals in 2017 and has been the captain of the team ever since.

In a recent chat with Star Sport, Sanju Samson revealed that he was taken to the Rajasthan Royals trials by the former Indian cricketer S. Sreesanth. He also talked about the trials of the team that were taken by Rahul Dravid and Paddy Upton.

Sanju said, “Sreesanth took me to the RR trials. Dravid was there. Paddy Upton was there. I wasn’t expecting much from the trials because I did not know what kind of players they were looking for. It was a two-day trial which however was very special as I have never batted like that ever again,”.
