CSK saw some players rising to the occasion and proving their worth in gold, however, a few players remained pale and untested throughout the season. Ambati Rayudu

Middle-order batter Ambati Rayudu is a no-brainer as the cricketer himself has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket following CSK's title victory at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Rayudu didn't have the best of seasons in the IPL 2023 with his bat staying quiet for the most part of the tournament. In 12 outings in IPL 2023, Ambati Rayudu could only score 142 runs at an average of 15.78. Interestingly, his IPL 2022 outing stands out to be more fruitful than the IPL 2023 one, with him scoring 274 runs in just 11 innings.

Now, the talks about his stats become irrelevant as the cricketer has bid adieu to the game of cricket. It will be interesting if he can come into the league in another capacity.

Sisanda Magala

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) roped in South African pacer Sisanda Magala as a replacement for Kiwi all-rounder Kyle Jamieson for the IPL 2023. Jamieson was ruled out of the IPL 2023 after suffering an injury.

Magala was expected to make use of his rich experience of franchise cricket, however, he couldn't get a long rope in the side. The Protea pacer featured in two games for CSK in which he scalped a solitary wicket at a decent economy of 8.50.

Looking at the pace firepower at CSK it's unlikely that the five times IPL champions would retain him for IPL 2024. Moreover, CSK would love to have Kyle Jamieson back as he gives much more flexibility to the franchise.
