IPL 2023: MS Dhoni got the silver bat as an award from BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow during an IPL match between Lucknow and Chennai on May 3rd.

For the first time, Indian cricket team captain and legendary player Dhoni played a cricket match at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. On this occasion, BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla awarded the silver bat to Dhoni for his valuable contribution to Indian cricket.

Dhoni already announced that IPL 2023 is his last IPL, and he has already taken retirement from International cricket. Under the Leadership of Dhoni, India won the ICC T20I World Cup 2007, ICC World Cup 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013. Dhoni is considered as the most successful cricketer in the history of Indian cricket. MS Dhoni won four IPL trophies as a captain of Chennai Super Kings in 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021.

The BCCI honored him with a silver bat for his wonderful cricketing career. MS Dhoni came to Lucknow to play the IPL match of LSG vs CSK. At this beautiful moment, the BCCI decided to give the award to Captain Cool. MS Dhoni Captained team India for more than 10 years.

Ekana was chosen as the home ground of Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2023; it was a great moment for Lucknow to host IPL matches. Ekana hosted Chennai Super Kings for the first time in the IPL. As part of our tradition and culture, when any legendary players come for the first time at any new stadium, to show our respect to him by giving Awards to legendary players.
