The IPL 2022 Mega Auction has kicked off and it is even better than what the fans had expected. With all the teams starting from ground zero in the auction, the stakes are as high as they get. Many things depend on this Mega Auction and thus the franchises are giving it their everything. 

All the 10 teams are trying their absolute very best to sign the players that are best suited for their teams and trying to build a strong squad that will be suitable for lifting the IPL 2022 Trophy. 

But what we have to keep in mind is that the fate of all these teams for not only this season but many seasons to come will depend on how strong a team they are able to build today and tomorrow, which makes things even more important and exciting at the same time. 

The event has now started and the first round of auction is completed now with the 2 crore base price list players being done with already. There have been some exciting transactions in the Mega Auction from the 2 Crore base price already and certain teams are turning out to be very strong which is an exciting prospect for the League and the respective fans. 

There have been a number of very controversial transactions in the Mega Auction so far where the price tag doesn’t really fit. Like David Warner being sold to Delhi Capitals for just 6.25 Crores was indeed very shocking. 

Some other price tags like Shikhar Dhawan for 8.25 Crores, Ravichandran Ashwin for 5 crores and Kagiso Rabada for 9.25 crores were very much justified. 

The costliest player in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction so far has been Shreyas Iyer who was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders for 12.25 Crores.
