IPL 2022 Franchises Retained Players, Mega Auction Details, Team Salary Purse: The recent Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 ended on a high as MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bagged its fourth IPL title in Dubai. The IPL viewership shattered every possible record predominantly due to the scintillating comeback of CSK in the last IPL edition.

While everyone thought the wrap of the IPL 2021 would settle down the buzz created around the league but the BCCI had some other plans to engage its viewers on possible debates of the two new teams, player retentions and the upcoming IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

The upcoming IPL 2022 will be bigger than ever. The governing board has already announced the induction of two new IPL teams which makes the league a ten teams affair. Lucknow and Ahmedabad will become functional as soon as the IPL 2022 gets underway.

IPL 2022 Mega Auction Date:

As of now, no official confirmation has been provided. However, it has been understood that the IPL 2022 Mega Auction will be held somewhere in the first or second week of February 2022. A delay could be possible as the BCCI has increased the deadline for the two new franchises to submit their final three players ahead of the mega auction.

BCC asked all IPL franchises to reach Banglore to participate in the Mega Auction which could be held on February 12 and 13 (awaiting official confirmation).

The BCCI elevated the total salary purse amount for the upcoming IPL 2022. With an increment of INR 5 Crores, the total purse value reaches INR 90 Crores for each IPL franchise in IPL 2022.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Ravindra Jadeja (16 Crore), MS Dhoni (12 Crore), Moeen Ali (8 Crore) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (6 Crore).

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) – Andre Russell (12 Crore), Venkatesh Iyer (8 Crore), Varun Chakravarthy (8 Crore), and Sunil Narine (6 Crore).

Mumbai Indians (MI)Rohit Sharma (16 Crore), Jasprit Bumrah (12 Crore), Suryakumar Yadav (8 Crore) and Kieron Pollard (6 Crore).

Delhi Capitals (DC) – Rishabh Pant (16 Crore), Axar Patel (9 Crore), Prithvi Shaw (7.5 Crore),  and Anrich Nortje (6.5 Crore).
