Former FC Barcelona superstar, Philippe Coutinho has been at the end of his loan spell with the Qatar side Al Duhail and will return to Europe to join the Premier League side Aston Villa. The Brazilian joined the side back in 2022 as a loan player which later became a permanent transfer.

According to reports MLS club Inter Miami has shown interest in signing the attacker as a loan for the upcoming season. Philippe Coutinho who has been alongside Messi in the Barca camp will mark a reunion with the legend in the American football league. Coutinho will be looking as a replacement for Argentine attacker Facundo Farias who earlier was struck by a knee injury in a friendly game just before the start of the season.

Inter Miami views Coutinho as a “dream” signing

The Herons view the Brazilian superstar as a dream signing after adding Argentine Legend Lionel Messi this summer. Luis Suarez who has also been in Barcelona joined the Florida-based franchise this January. As of now, the Brazilian is potentially the next big name on their radar.

However, with the exclusion of Facundo Farias due to ACL injury, this move will serve as a smart option for Inter Miami this season. Coutinho was dismissed as an Inter Miami signing earlier this season but with the injury suffered from a tackle coming in during a pre-season friendly against El Salvador, Facundo Farias has suffered a season-long injury.

Coutinho has been lined up for a switch to America as his loan deal with Al Duhail is expected to be ripped off since Villa is looking to push the South American in a different direction. Coutinho is known for his combination of vision, passing, and dribbling ability and would be useful in providing strong support to the forward.

The 31-year-old has 26 international goals against his name in 68 appearances. He has good experience and worked with Messi and Co at Camp Nou in the past. The Ex Barcelona star can serve as a perfect plan B for the injury-stricken Farias for the upcoming season.
