Indian Cricket Team playing 11 for the ODI series against Australia - Prediction
After the ongoing Test series against the West Indies Cricket Team, the Indian Cricket Team will be touring Australia for the three-match ODI series and the five-match T20I series, beginning 19th October with the first ODI in Perth.
The Indian Cricket Team for the Australia ODIs will see the return of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. One of the biggest highlights of the squad was Shubman Gill being appointed as the captain. He replaced Rohit in the role and the move saw BCCI facing a lot of criticism.
As the India vs Australia series is around the corner, we take a look at the predicted Indian Cricket Team playing 11 for the ODI series against Australia
Openers - Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli at three
Rohit Sharma and new ODI skipper Shubman Gill are expected to open the innings for India in the series against Australia. They have formed a formidable pair for India at the top and have been one of the main reasons behind India’s dominance in ODIs for the last few years. They will be holding the key for India in the series and are expected to shine.
At three, Virat Kohli is expected to bat and he is no doubt the best batter in the format. Since the last decade, he along with Rohit Sharma has been carrying the Indian batting lineup. They are expected to do the same in the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia.
Middle Order - Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul (wk)
Shreyas Iyer has been the heart and soul of the Indian Team in the ODIs in the middle order. From having a dream ICC World Cup 2023 and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign, he has been sensational for India. He will be joined by KL Rahul in the middle and he will be keeping the wickets.
KL Rahul has been terrific as a wicket-keeper in the ODIs and is expected to do great in Australia as well. Him and Iyer will be holding key for India in the Australia series.
All-rounders - Nitish Kumar Reddy and Axar Patel, Spinner Kuldeep Yadav
In the absence of Hardik Pandya, who is injured, Nitish Kumar Reddy has been added into the team for the series against Australia. It will be a great opportunity for him to seal his spot in the ODI team, having done that in the Test team.
Along with him, Axar Patel will be the second all-rounder. He will also be handling spin bowling duties along with Kuldeep Yadav. The wrist spinner will be key for India with the ball and he would want to help India win the series with ease.
Fast bowlers - Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh
Mohammed Siraj will be making his comeback in the Indian ODI side after a while. He wasn’t named in the team for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Hence, it will be a key series for him as he would want to seal his spot back in the side.
Alongside him is expected to be Arshdeep Singh, who has been one of the premier pacers for India in the white-ball format. The left-arm pacer recently shone with the ball during the India A vs Australia A series. He would be keen to continue his good form and help the team win.
