IND vs WI: After how many years did KL Rahul score a Test century at home?

Indian Cricket Team batter KL Rahul came up with a magical effort with the bat in the ongoing first Test against the West Indies Cricket Team. The opening game of the two-match series between the teams is underway at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad. 

KL Rahul, who is the first-choice opener in the Indian test team now, has been sensational with the bat. After the retirement of Rohit Sharma, he has taken the responsibility and has been scoring truckloads of runs with the bat for his team. 

After having a solid series in England, where he slammed over 500 runs, KL Rahul started the home season on a high. The premier batter took his team off to a glorious start with the bat after the West Indies got all out for just 162 in the first innings after opting to bat. 

KL Rahul hit a glorious fifty on Day one of the match and then followed it up with a staggering ton on Day two. The opening batter played glorious shots during his stay at the crease as he put the West Indies bowler under massive pressure.

KL Rahul slammed his 11th ton in the longest format of the game. He brought up his century in 190 and en route to his century, he hit 12 boundaries. His innings helped India take a first-innings lead. 

After how many years has KL Rahul hit a test hundred at home?

With KL Rahul hitting a glorious ton, he stole the limelight. But to many’s surprise, this was only his second century in the longest format of the game at home. While, his major centuries have come in overseas conditions, he was unable to assert his authority at home.

This was KL Rahul’s first ton at home after nine long years. His last ton at home was against England in 2016 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. His innings helped India win the game with ease.

KL Rahul scored 199 runs off 311 balls to go with 16 boundaries and three sixes. With him now slamming ton after a while, he would be keen to add more to his tally and help India win more games.
