IND vs PAK Game On in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Pakistan confirmed to travel to India: In the latest development, the Pakistan government has agreed to send its senior men's cricket team to India for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The update from the Pakistani government was confirmed on Sunday which brought a wave of excitement among the fans, who are eagerly awaiting the IND vs PAK contest.
An update from Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the government, following its due diligence, has made up its mind to participate in the ICC World Cup 2023 in India later this year.
The statement from its Foreign Ministry added that it has always kept politics away from cricket relations and obligations.
?Pakistan has consistently maintained that sports should not be mixed with politics. It has, therefore, decided to send its Cricket Team to India to participate in the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023,? a statement from the foreign ministry read.
?Pakistan believes that the state of bilateral relations with India should not stand in the way of fulfilling its international sports-related obligations.?
To hit back at India for its unwavering stance of not traveling to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. Interestingly, the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 succeeds the Asia Cup 2023, which was originally scheduled to be held in Pakistan solely. However, following multiple back and forth between the PCB and the BCCI, it was zeroed on that the continental tournament will be co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
?Pakistan?s decision shows its constructive and responsible approach vis-?-vis India?s intransigent attitude, as the latter had refused to send its Cricket Team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup,? the statement read.
The development from Pakistani government came after it formed a high level committee to conduct a thorough security review for their national cricketers. The committee was headed by Pakistani foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who had to directly report to the Pakistani PM Shahbaz Shareef.
