India lost the opening test of the series. “This victory is probably, 100% definitely, our greatest triumph,” said Ben Stokes after a remarkable win in the first test of the India Tour.

Before the series began, everyone was talking about how Bazball would do against the spinners. Without a doubt, they have won the opening round. The two teams in the spin department had quite different levels of expertise. Jack Leach’s niggle plagued him for most of the Test, which made things worse for the visiting team.
