<p>The India VS England one-off test is set to begin on the 1<sup>st</sup> of July. This game is the series decider game of the India VS England Test Series that happened last year. That series was called off because the Indian team was unfortunately struck by Covid-19 and the schedule of the Indian Premier League in 2021 was just a week away. So, the BCCI requested the ECB to shift the test match to this white-ball tour. So, this game is an integral part of the series that was played last year. Rohit Sharma will be back in the side as the captain after recovering from the covid and will be available from the opening T20I itself. <p><strong>India tour of England 2025: Lord's, Oval among others named to host India: </strong>The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday announced the venues for its home calendar for the next seven-year cycle which runs from 2025 to 2031. As a part of future tour plans, ECB has revealed the venues for highly anticipated games in its forthcoming cycle.</p>



<p>The England Cricket Board has picked a few of its most prestigious stadiums to host important matches in its next seven-year calendar. The ECB has rolled out venues of the famous Pataudi <a href="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/icc-reportedly-considers-south-africa-to-host-the-icc-champions-trophy-2025-if-pcb-rejects-their-proposal-for-the-hybrid-model/" title="Trophy 2025" class="auto-internal-link" data-auto-link="1" data-link-type="suggestion" data-rule-id="0">Trophy 2025</a> and 2029 &amp; the Ashes 2025 and 2031.</p>



<p>The celebrated Pataudi Trophy between India and England in 2025, which comprise five test matches will have its fixtures at the Lord's and the Oval cricket ground in London, Headingly in Leeds, Old Trafford in Manchester and Edgbaston in Birmingham. </p>



<p>Meanwhile, during the 2029 Pataudi Trophy, the Ageas Bowl in Southampton, where the first edition of the ICC World Test Championship in 2021 was held, will replace Headingly in Leeds. The other four venues will retain their chances of hosting the India vs England games in 2029.</p>



<p>Richard Gould, CEO ECB, said by announcing the venues of the most anticipated games beforehand gives the opportunity for the cricket grounds to equip with better facilities and technologies. </p>

<p>Hardik Pandya missed India's last assignment against New Zealand on October 22. Although his absence was seen as a major roadblock for India, the team successfully managed to get past the jitters of New Zealand. </p>



<p>To compensate for him, India included Suryakumar Yadav to strengthen their batting unit, and for the cover-up of the bowling skill losses, Mohammad Shami replaced Shardul Thakur to maintain the overall balance of the playing 11. </p>



<p>While Shami had a memorable outing against New Zealand as he registered his second fifer in the ICC World Cup, Suryakumar Yadav got trapped in a horrible mix-up with Virat Kohli and was run out at a meagre score of 2.</p>



<p>It remains to be seen if India goes ahead with the same mix of players in the first 11 against England in Lucknow as they proceeded against New Zealand, a few days ago. </p>



<p>Lucknow's surface is known to be more favourable to spinners. The pitch has tendency to slow down as the game proceeds which may lure Rohit Sharma to include an attacking spin option in R Ashwin in place of Mohammad Shami.</p>

<p>Hardik Pandya?s injury is much worse than expected. The all-rounder was expected to be fit for the IND vs ENG game but the recent reports in Times of India have suggested a completely different story, which might be a cause of concern for the team.?</p>



<p>The reports have suggested that Hardik Pandya has a ligament tear and is doubtful for the India?s next three games. Earlier some reports also suggested that the all-rounder has recovered fully but BCCI might rest him for the IND vs ENG game as a precautionary measure.&nbsp;</p>



<p>But things aren?t as they seem. Hardik Pandya is expected to miss the next three games and it?ll be a huge setback for the Indian team. Although Rohit Sharma-led side have won five out of their five games in the tournament and are at the top of the table, but they lack balance without Pandya.?</p>

<p>To seal the semi-final spot, India needs to win their next few games and for that, Hardik Pandya will be crucial. The all-rounder injured himself during the game against Bangladesh in Pune and immediately walked off the field in pain.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Pandya was then ruled out of the game <a href="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/qualification-scenario-of-india-for-the-wtc-2023-25-final-after-the-historic-test-series-lost-against-new-zealand/" title="against New Zealand" class="auto-internal-link" data-auto-link="1" data-link-type="suggestion" data-rule-id="0">against New Zealand</a> and in his place Suryakumar Yadav was drafted into the XI. The move didn?t work as he was run out. However, if the reports related to Hardik being out for three games, we might see India persisting with Yadav.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Apart from Hardik Pandya, there have been reports in PTI, that have suggested that R Ashwin is in contention to play the IND vs ENG game. The match is slated to take place in Lucknow, where the surface traditionally has helped spinners.?</p>



<p>Also with the number of left-handers in the England team, bringing in R Ashwin could be a good move. But the question remains who will he replace in the team. Mohammad Shami picked a fifer in the last match and it would be tough to drop him but he might have to face the unfortunate snub, considering the conditions.&nbsp;</p>
