IND vs AUS: Two changes that India National Cricket Team can make for the third ODI against Australia in Sydney

The Indian Cricket Team are currently locking horns with the Australian Cricket Team in the three-match ODI series. The Shubman Gill-led side has already lost the series, losing the first two games in Perth and Adelaide. 

In the first ODI in Perth, Australia registered a brilliant 7-wicket win and it was expected that India would make a strong comeback. However, that wasn’t the case as Australia came up with another great effort, winning the second match of the series by two wickets, taking an unbeaten lead of 2-0.

With the series already lost, India now will be aiming be make a strong comeback in the third ODI and avoid the whitewash. The dead rubber last game will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney on Saturday (October 25) and the Shubman Gill-led side would be keen to register a win.

Having lost two games, India surely would want to make some changes to their XI. In this article, we take a look at two changes that the India National Cricket Team can make for the third ODI against Australia in Sydney. 

Kuldeep Yadav in place of Nitish Kumar Reddy 

One of the major changes that India would want to make to the side is to add Kuldeep Yadav in the XI at any cost. The wrist spinner was benched for the two games that India played. That saw the team management facing a lot of criticism. Also, India has struggled to take wickets with the ball with Nitish Kumar Reddy struggling. The addition of Kuldeep can expose Australia’s inexperienced middle order. Also Reddy hasn’t done anything special with the bat and he could make way for Kuldeep. 

Prasidh Krishna in place of Harshit Rana 

Harshit Rana has been an utter disappointment for India in the ongoing IND vs AUS ODI series. He had good starts with the ball but failed to capitalise on that. In both games, he struggled to stop the run flow. Hence, there are chances that India might drop him and add Prasidh Krishna to the team for the last ODI against Australia in Sydney.
