IND vs AUS: Mitchell Starc bowls 176.5 kmph delivery to Rohit Sharma in Perth, leaving fans go berserk

Mitchell Starc in his first five oversnof the IND vs AUS 1st ODI was top-notch.

Australian Cricket Team fast bowler Mitchell Starc was at his best with the ball in the ongoing first ODI against the Indian Cricket Team. The match between the two teams is underway at the Perth Stadium in Perth.

Australia, which won the toss and opted to field, had a great outing with the ball. Mitchell Starc took the new ball and troubled the Indian top order with his lines and lengths. He was spot on and made life tough for Indian batters.

Mitchell Starc in his first five overs was top-notch. He hardly gave away anything. But what caught the attention of many was the first ball of the match that he bowled to former Indian captain Rohit Sharma.

As he delivered the ball, the speed gun showed that the ball was clocked at 176.5 kmph — which is the fastest ever recorded in the history of ODI cricket. This was the major talking point with many wondering if that actually happened.

Many fans reacted to it, however, it was later revealed that it was an error from the speed gun. But nothing to take away from Starc, he was bowling thunderbolts with his average speed being around 140 kilometres per hour. His fastest delivery was 145 kmph, which he bowled to Rohit Sharma.

In his first five overs, Mitchell Starc also removed Virat Kohli. The pacer bowled an outside off delivery which lit the batter’s eyes and took the outside edge, which was caught by Cooper Connolly at the point as the Indian batter bagged a 8-ball duck.

Coming to the game, India managed just 136 runs on the board. KL Rahul (38) and Axar Patel (31) were the top run-getters with the bat. India had a poor outing and now would be keen to come up with a better performance in the second match.
