IND vs AUS: The Game Plan Revealed, the Australians will use this Strategy versus Virat Kohli in the 2nd ODI

The BKT Tyres three-match ODI series is underway between fierce-rivals India and Australia. The Kangaroos defeated Team India in the first ODI of this series. Superstar Virat Kohli failed to even open his account in his comeback match as he was dismissed by Mitchell Starc on an off-side delivery. Now, Australia's number three batsman, Matt Short, has revealed the Kangaroos' plan for the second ODI against King Kohli.

Australian batsman Matt (Matthew) Short believes his team's fast bowlers will continue to exploit Virat Kohli 's recent weakness against balls outside off-stump in the second ODI. Kohli, who was dismissed for a duck in the series opener in Perth, will be eager to make a comeback at the Adelaide Oval, his most successful overseas venue. He has scored five international centuries at this ground and averages 65 across all formats.

"I wasn't at the fast bowlers' meeting, but it seems he (Kohli) has been getting out like this recently. Some of the guys like Hazee (Josh Hazlewood) and Starcy (Mitchell Starc) have bowled against him a lot and they know what they are doing. In Perth, he let the conditions do their work. There was a bit of swing and a bit of bounce on the wicket, so I'm sure he will do the same again," Matt Short told reporters ahead of the second ODI.

India received overwhelming support from a crowd of 42,423 at Optus Stadium in the first ODI, most of whom came to witness the return of Rohit Sharma and Kohli to the team after more than seven months. After retiring from other formats of the game, the two former captains returned to the national team for the first time since winning the Champions Trophy on March 9. Both had announced their retirement from the Test format before the England tour and decided to play only ODIs. Both had also retired from the T20 International format after India's World Cup win last year.

Short further said, "When Rohit or (Shubman) Gill got out that day (in Perth) and then Kohli came in, there were just chants. When he was coming out, as a batsman you felt very bad while leaving the field. It was a great experience."

Since making his debut against India in Mohali, the right-handed batsman has endured injuries and fluctuating roles. He started at number eight and batted at number three in the current series, but is still searching for form.

"It's been frustrating. I still feel like I'm moving well. I'm feeling good at the crease. I haven't been able to score runs yet, but hopefully I will soon. It's been a frustrating year in terms of playing consistent cricket. It's always difficult to break into the playing XI, and I'll accept any opportunity I get, whether it's opening the innings, batting at number three, or anywhere else. It's just important to be flexible and try to bat wherever you get the space and be able to accept it," Short added.
