The third and last match of the three-match IDFC FIRST BANK 50-over series between South Africa and India is slated to be played today in the afternoon at 1:30 PM IST (Indian Standard Times).  The contest will be hosted by the prestigious Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, and the KL Rahul-led team's goal will be to win the series.

India are unbeaten in home ODI series since 2023.

Over the past two years, India have emerged victorious in bilateral 50-over series on home soil.  In March of 2023, India's most recent home loss in an ODI series was a 2-1 defeat to the Mighty Australians.  The Men in Blue will be reluctant to lose the three-match series versus the Proteas after getting whitewashed 0–2 in the IDFC FIRST BANK two-game Test series.  The 2025 Champions Trophy winner have an excellent record at Vizag.

On this ground, Rohit Sharma's batting performance is just as impressive as Kohli's.  Rohit has scored 355 runs at an outstanding average of 59.16 in his seven games here.  At a strike rate of 99.43, Rohit has amassed one century and two half-centuries here.  Kuldeep Yadav has been the most effective bowler here, grabbing nine wickets in four games.  The Visakhapatnam pitch's attractiveness to Chinaman bowlers is demonstrated by this statistic alone.

This ground is also special for Dhoni.

The first ODI match between bitter rivals India and Pakistan was played here on April 5, 2005, making this ground particularly memorable.  In this match, former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni achieved his first ODI century while batting at number three for the first time.  Dhoni hit 148 runs off 123 balls in his fifth game.  Dhoni became a worldwide phenomenon with this innings.
