IND vs SA - King Kohli's 52nd Hundred! Virat Hammers Century in Ranchi, Leaves South Africa Dazed in 1st ODI

Virat Kohli scored his 83rd international and 52nd ODI century in the first ODI against South Africa in Ranchi, becoming the player with the most ODI hundreds against the Proteas. He and Rohit Sharma, who hit his 60th ODI fifty, put on a crucial 136-run stand to steady India’s innings.

Virat 'The Legendary' Kohli brought up his 83rd hundred in International Cricket - 52nd in the 50-over format during the first ODI game of the IDFC FIRST BANK SERIES between India and South Africa in Ranchi - JSCA Cricket Ground on Sunday.

The 37-year-old completed his ton in 102 deliveries with the assistance of seven maginificent fours and five big maximums. 

In the same match, Rohit Sharma also smashed his 60th ODI half-century. Rohit didn't reach the century mark, but Virat Kohli displayed a strong performance, crossing the 100-run mark for the 52nd time in his One-Day career.

Kohli has now become the batter with the most hundreds versus South Africa in ODI cricket history. This was his sixth ODI century against the Proteas. Before him, Sachin Tendulkar and David Warner both had five centuries each against South Africa in ODIs.

The Indian batsman also achieved two consecutive One-Day half-centuries, the last of which came in the third ODI held at Sydney versus 2023 World Cup winners Australia.

In Corbin Bosch's over, King Kohli was at the top of his game, hitting consecutive sixes.  Virat scored another enormous maximum by slamming the subsequent ball over deep point.  Fans relished Kohli's assault on the Proteas Men.

The Partnership Between Rohit and Virat Steals the Show

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli gave a spectacular performance for the fans at the JSCA International Cricket Stadium in Ranchi. Virat Kohli came in to bat at number three after Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed, and his solid performance helped to stabilize the team's performance.

With timely boundaries and strong maximums coming off their bats, Rohit and Virat demonstrated glimpses of brilliance as they forged a strong partnership.  As they went on to create a 136-run partnership, the two appeared calm. Virat Kohli is still batting as of this writing, while Rohit Sharma was finally dismissed for 57 off 51.
