ICC World Cup 2023: The ‘King of Cricket’ Virat Kohli is upping his game and is coming to reclaim his No.1 spot in the ICC rankings. The batter has made a lot of gains in the new rankings after his stellar show for India in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. 

Virat Kohli has climbed to No.6 spot in the ICC ODI Rankings. The Indian batter has displayed a magnificent performance in the World Cup and is currently the second-leading run-getter in the event. He has been the most consistent batter in the mega event and the reward for that has been given to him. 

Virat Kohli started the ICC World Cup 2023 with a whirlwind 85-run-knock against Australia in Chennai. He continued his fine form as after that he hit a staggering half-century in Afghanistan. He bagged a low score against Pakistan but made a staggering comeback against Bangladesh

The lynchpin of the Indian batting slammed a magnificent ton against Bangladesh in Pune and then followed it with a 95-run knock against New Zealand in Dharamsala. Following his heroics, he has bagged 747 rating points in the ICC rankings. 

With the way he’s batting, it’s fair to say that he can regain the No.1 spot yet again. Apart from him, Shubman Gill also has made gains in the rankings. He is just 6 points away from becoming the No.1 ODI batter and dethroning Babar Azam from the spot. 

Indian captain Rohit Sharma also has gained a few points and is currently 8 in the ICC rankings. He has 725 rating points. The opening batter has been in staggering form in the ICC World Cup 2023. He’s the third-leading run-getter in the league.

Apart from Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, there were a few more changes in the ICC Rankings. Quinton de Kock after his staggering three tons in ICC World Cup 2023 has climbed to third spot. Whereas his teammate Heinrich Klaasen is the new No.4 ranked ODI batter.
