The cricket-turned-commentator backed Indian skipper Rohit Sharma to win the prestigious award in the ongoing event. While speaking to Star Sports, he made the prediction

Rohit Sharma has looked in terrific touch in the ICC World Cup 2023. The Indian captain has unleashed his beats mode in the tournament and has looked ecstatic to eyes.  The opening batter has destroyed the bowling lineups of the opposition with his attacking batting. 

Rohit Sharma adopted the attacking mindset in the tournament and has made sure that his side is off to a flying start in each game they played. His innings at the top have taken off all the pressure from the middle-order batters and they have taken their time.

Rohit Sharma batted in a similar fashion against Bangladesh and New Zealand as he scored crucial 40s in both games. His attacking batting at the top has put him in the list of the leading run-getters in the ICC World Cup 2023. The Indian skipper has 311 runs and with the way he’s batting, the number is only expected to rise

Indian captain Rohit Sharma apart from giving his team a rollicking starts is also on the verge of achieving a huge big milestone. He is 47 runs away from completing 18000 runs in international cricket

With the way he has been batting, it’s fair to say that we might witness him complete it in the IND vs ENG game, slated to take place on Sunday. Rohit Sharma currently has 17,953 runs from 456 games.
