ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifier West Indies Schedule, Squad, List, Venue: The ICC has announced the group and schedule for the Men’s Cricket World Qualifier, set to take place in Zimbabwe from June 18. The tournament will feature ten teams divided into two groups and each groups have five teams.

The top two performing teams from both groups will qualify for the six-phase Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier. In this phase, teams will play against opponents from the other group, and the points accumulated against other Super Six teams from their original group will be carried forward.

Every match in World Cup Qualifiers is crucial because points of the group stage are considered in the super six stages to choose the top two teams of World Cup Qualifiers based on points.

Therefore, the top Two teams from the Super Six stage will qualify for the World Cup 2023 and play in the finals of the ICC World Cup Qualifiers.

ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifier Team List:

Group A Teams

Group A consists of more formidable teams like Nepal, West Indies, Netherlands, USA, and Zimbabwe.

Group B Teams 

Group B consists of teams Sri Lanka, Ireland, Scotland, Oman, and UAE.

West Indies Qualification Scenario for the World Cup 2023:

Currently, West Indies is placed in group A with other teams in Nepal, Netherlands, USA, and Zimbabwe. Therefore, West Indies will play against these teams in the group stages.

If West Indies wins matches in this group stage, then they will qualify for the Super Six phase, where they will face teams from group B, and if they succeed in the Super Six stage, then they will qualify for the ODI world cup, which will be played in India.

Why West Indies Failed to get direct Qualification for World Cup: 

West Indies failed to qualify for the world cup in 2023 because South Africa defeated the Netherlands and moved to the 8th position in the ICC World Cup Super League points table. Due to this, West Indies failed to qualify for the world cup directly, and now they will play Qualifiers.
