IPL Winning Prize Money from 2008-2023: The Indian Premier League(IPL), one of the world’s most prestigious and profitable cricket leagues, has witnessed remarkable growth since its starting in 2008.

It was established following India’s victory in the inaugural T20 World Cup 2007. IPL’s value has increased by approximately Rs 91,000 crores in 2023, largely attributed to media rights agreements and new partnerships.

To further Details, BCCI officials have expressed plans to increase the price money for the IPL by 20 to 25 percent. IPL owns a total prize pool of 46.5 crores, with the winners of the IPL 2023 season set to receive Rs 20 crores. The runners-up team will be awarded Rs 13 crores, while the two teams making it to the playoffs round will earn Rs 7 crores each.

These significant prize amounts not only contribute to the competitive spirit of the tournament but also serve as additional motivation for the participating teams, further increasing the thrill and intensity of the IPL.

IPL Winning Prize Money from 2008-2023:

IPL 2008 to 2009 

The prize money for the first two seasons was Rs 4.8 crore for the winner, and for Runner-up, it was Rs 2.4 crore.

IPL 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 

The prize money was increased to Rs 10 crore for the winner and Rs 5 crore for the runner-up.

IPL 2014 and 2015 

Again in 2014, the prize money was increased to Rs 15 crore, while the runner-up got Rs 10 crore.

IPL 2016-2019

In 2016, the prize money was increased to Rs 20 crore for the winner and Rs 11 crore for Runner-up, which continues till 2019.

IPL 2020

Due to the pandemic in 2020, the prize money was decreased to Rs 10 crore for the winner, and for the runner-up, it was Rs 6.25 crore.

IPL 2021

Again the winning prize was increased to Rs 20 crore despite a corona pandemic for the winner, and for the runner-up, it was Rs 12.5 crore.

IPL 2022

The IPL 2022 prize was Rs 20 crore for the winner, and the Runner-up got Rs 13 crore.

IPL 2023 

The prize money for 2023 will be the same as in 2022, the winner will get Rs 20 crore, and Runner-up will get Rs 13 crore.
