T20 World Cup 2026 IND vs WI game saw India winning and moving into semi-final
India have made it into the semi-final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, becoming the fourth team to do so. They defeated the West Indies by five wickets in a do-or-die clash at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday. Asked to bat, the West Indies put on a total of 195 for four, which India chased with four balls to spare.
West Indies had a decent start to their innings with openers in Shai Hope (32) and Roston Chase (40) batting brilliantly in power play. Their 68-run partnership put India under immense pressure before Varun Chakravarthy removed the West Indies captain.
Shimron Hetmyer (27), at three, played a decent innings, but Jasprit Bumrah brought India back in the game with his twin strikes in the 12th over. West Indies were left struggling at 119 for four at one stage.
But Rovman Powell (34*) and Jason Holder (37*) brought their team back in the game again. The Powell-Holder duo added a 76-run partnership for the fifth wicket as West Indies posted a total of 195 for four.

Abhishek Sharma yet again failed in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 as he got out for just ten. Soon after his wicket, Ishan Kishan also got out for the same score.
But it was Sanju Samson (97*), who looked focused and played a blinder. The keeper-hit a brilliant half-century under pressure to keep India in the chase.
He got vital support from Suryakumar Kumar (18) and Tilak Varma (27), adding 58 and 42 runs respectively with two. Hardik Pandya struggled for his 17, but Samson kept oozing his class and took his team home with five wickets in hand.
